Unconfirmed reports said he passed away after a battle with Kidney failure.
The Trent exclusively reports that the actor passed away in the afternoon of Sunday, January 18, 2015 in a hospital in Festac, Lagos.
Obiekwe had been battling with kidney disease for a long time, which he reportedly kept secret from his colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The source said Obiekwe was rushed to the hospital on Sunday morning after he was found vomiting at home.

However, in an unconfirmed Twitter account, the actor has come out to state categorically that he was alive and healthy.
He tweeted thus: “@MunaObiekwe: WTF! How can someone joke with an issue of death, pls o everyone I’m alive and well by His grace..Don’t know where they got it From…”
