UNN Sudden Mid-Semester Break: The Main Reason Behind It

Many have expressed displeasure over the sudden break given by the management of the University of Nigeria Nsukka and consequently the ordering of students out of the school premises with immediate effect.

The story behind this has it that on 31st May 2015, Students of the University of Nsukka (Enugu Campus)
staged a protest over the incessant power failure and lack of water supply in the campus.

According to report, the protest was peaceful. However, it took a different turn when the students have gone to their last point of call which was the VC's lodge and have registered their grievances and were about to leave when a 504 Peugeot car in full speed with no headlights rammed into the crowd taking four students down on impact leaving them with various degrees of injuries.

To forestall a similar occurrence (protest) at the Nsukka Campus of the institution, the management of the institution decided to give an immediate 2 weeks break and ordered students out of the campus.

The injured students have been hospitalized and are currently receiving treatment.
